Eaton is expanding its range of high-end HMI’s with the introduction of the XP500 series of industrial touch-panel PCs. The new devices offer multi-touch technology. The HMI panels run on Windows 7 and can be mounted in switch cabinets or operator consoles, making them suitable for standard machine building applications in most industrial sectors.
The XP500 panel PC simplifies operation for the user and its touch sensor technology ensures that control commands are detected accurately. The projected capacitive touch (PCT) technology provides intuitive operation and the multi-touch screen means users can operate several functions simultaneously. Operators can now also use touch to zoom and scroll with the addition of a sensor system to prevent accidental operating errors or machine starts which can only be activated by touching several operating fields at the same time.
The XP500 has a slim, fan-free design with a large-area display, giving it a modern appearance and reducing its space requirements. The non-reflective safety glass is easy to maintain with a split-free and edge-free front that allows for effective cleaning. The aluminium housing includes a front offering protection to IP65/Nema 4X and devices provided with UL Class I, Division 2 certification. This also makes the panel PCs suitable for harsh industrial environments as well as for hazardous applications in the process industry.
The XP5000 comes with two Ethernet and USB interfaces as well as an RS232 and RS485 interface.
