Bunzl snapped up Northampton-based Woodway, a supplier of packaging products to a variety of end user customers in a number of market sectors throughout the UK.
Woodway specialises in e-commerce packaging and distribution, and revenue in the year ended 30 June 2016 was £31m.
Bunzl has also acquired Devner, USA based Packaging Film Sales (PFS).
PFS is principally engaged in the sale of food packaging products, including flexible barrier films and specialty bags and pouches, to food processors, with revenues hitting $6m (£4.9m) last year.
The company has also completed the acquisition of Sæbe Compagniet following clearance of the transaction by the Danish competition authority.
Frank van Zanten, chief executive of Bunzl, said: “In addition to supplying high quality packaging products, Woodway provides bespoke value-added services to its customers through a specialist technical services team who are able to work in collaboration with customers to offer a total solution for their packaging needs. This expertise will be invaluable as we look to expand and develop our retail supplies business in the UK. The purchase of PFS complements our food processor business in the US by further enhancing our product offering, particularly in relation to barrier films. We are delighted to welcome both businesses and their employees to the Group”.
