The Turkish firm supplies plastic bags, metallic packaging, foodservice supplies and disposable gloves.
The deal is dependent upon consent from Turkish competition authorities and initially sees Bunzl acquire 80% of Bursa Pazari, with an option to buy the balance in the future.
Bunzl’s chief executive Michael Rony said: “The proposed acquisition of Bursa Pazari is an important development for Bunzl as it will extend our operations in Turkey, being a market that we entered for the first time in May 2015, into the foodservice and healthcare sectors.”
Bunzl also confirmed the completion of two other acquisitions – Brazilian healthcare product supply firm Dental Sorria, and US eco-bag manufacturer, Earthwise Bag Company.
“Dental Sorria has further enhanced our product offering in the healthcare sector in Brazil while Earthwise Bag has broadened our product range and complements our business serving the grocery and retail sectors in the US. “We are pleased to welcome each of the businesses and their employees to the group,” added Rony.
