Creating a smart pneumatic grid
Aventics and Boge Kompressoren showed, at the Motek show, how it is possible to achieve lower energy consumption for compressed air applications; how it is possible to have actuators under control at all times, and to have a system that is adaptable to new conditions.
The two companies have intelligently networked compressed air generators and compressed air consumers with their joint project, the Smart Pneumatic Grid which is based on the machine-to-machine communication protocol OPC-UA. Intelligently networking compressed air generators and compressed air consumers the solution is said to unlock a variety of potentials for monitoring, controlling, and optimising entire system topologies.
