‘Textures by Domino’ allows users to print a wide scope of digitally textured labels by using the high opacity ink on the N610i digital colour label press. Domino said that there was no need to invest in “expensive textured substrates”.
Jon Pritchard, product manager at Domino Printing Sciences said: “Due to the initial positive feedback that we received at Labelexpo [last September], we are now delighted to launch ‘Textures by Domino’, showcasing a whole new set of designs, colours and textured label samples that illustrate to our customers the range of effects can be created with inkjet, with lower costs than by using textured papers.
“A variety of effects can be applied to existing designs and images by adding a white layer to the artwork. The N610i prints at 50m/min and has the highest white opacity on the market with the thickest layer of ink, creating a silkscreen feel. To my knowledge, no other company today has this combination of opacity and ink film thickness.”
The effects were demonstrated at last month’s Label&Print show at the NEC.
