Massivit signs distribution deal with Carisma
Massivit, a company specializing in fast, large 3D printing for visual merchandising, is now exporting its proprietary gel deposition printing (GDP) technology to the US through a distribution deal signed with NYC-based Carisma. The first Massivit 1800 system has just been installed at the large format media specialist in Brooklyn, NY and has immediately gone into production creating unique promotions primarily for buses.

Kodak to debut UltraStream technology at drupa 2016
Kodak has announced its next generation inkjet technology platform, Kodak UltraStream inkjet technology, which will move production inkjet into the mainstream of commercial printing and packaging. UltraStream is aimed at printers and prospects demanding a sharper image quality to integrate into their application-based production systems. Kodak’s UltraStream technology will be showcased at drupa 2016 for the first time.

British Plastics Federation calls on government to reduce recycling targets
The British Government is about to raise the plastics packaging recycling target from currently 52 percent for 2016 to 57% for 2017. The British Plastics Federation (BPF) voices its disagreement. According to media reports, the BPF asked for an adjustment to the plastics packaging recycling targets to 48 percent for 2016, with subsequent 1 percent increases annually to 2020. This modification should provide more time to review the producer responsibility system in the light of stresses in the plastics recycling sector.
