Industrial communication with PROFINET book published
A new edition of the book Industrial communication with PROFINET has been published by from PI, the global industrial communications organization taking in the latest version of the PROFINET Standard V 2.3.
Written by Dipl.-Ing. Manfred Popp, the work provides field device manufacturers, plant manufacturers, and commissioning engineers with a comprehensive and practical introduction to the functionality and use of PROFINET.
The book explains the basic principles of and the mode of operation of PROFINET. In addition to learning about data exchange in RT and IRT communication, it provide information about the diagnostics concept, engineering, conformance classes, and performance optimisations, as well as the user profiles of PROFINET. Other topics include the integration of existing fieldbus systems, the redundancy concept integrated in PROFINET, and device certification.
The author Dipl.-Ing. Manfred Popp has served as director of the PROFIBUS/PROFINET Competence Center and Test Lab in Fürth, Germany, since 1991. He is also the leader of the PNO Working Groups for PROFINET and PROFIsafe certification.>
