He passes the reigns to sales director Mark McMahon.

Clayton joined Newman Labelling Systems in 1991 and was appointed managing director in 1992. During his time at Newman he has been instrumental in building upon the company’s reputation for high quality labelling equipment and has helped create a network of international agents serving high profile pharmaceutical and packaging companies around the world.

As part of the planned succession, Mark McMahon joined Newman Labelling Systems in 2015 from Avery Dennison, where he held the position of international sales manager for eight years, responsible for distribution partners across the UK, Ireland and Scandinavia.  This follows on from a career centred largely on the packaging, print and labelling sector, beginning with thermal printing products manufacturer Prestek in the early 1990s and moving to Sato UK before joining Avery Dennison.

“Under John’s expert leadership, Newman has become renowned within the pharmaceutical industry for great product and excellent service,” states McMahon.  “I aim to continue this and use my skill set to expand sales, develop new product lines and explore further avenues of opportunity.  Product integrity and traceability, for example, are key drivers in the markets I have worked in previously and evermore so today.

“Newman’s clear sector focus enables us to provide expert advice and solutions to help our customers meet their exacting requirements.  Our engineers and support team have decades of experience between them in pharmaceutical labelling. They have witnessed firsthand virtually every challenge ever put to this sector and are able to utilise this wealth of knowledge to provide workable, efficient solutions.”

Established in 1943, Newman Labelling Systems has a customer base that includes the world’s top ten pharmaceutical companies.
