Speakers confirmed include Andrew Jackson, director of ooh-AR Technologies, who will discuss augmented reality and how to truly engage customers. Also taking part will be Antoinette Devine, formerly with Bacardi, who will look at the ‘Juxtaposition of Waste and Sustainability’ in the luxury packaging sector.
Additionally, Johnny MacNeal, business development manager at Insignia Technologies (winner of Best New Concept at the 2016 UK Packaging Awards), will share his ideas on shelf life maximisation technologies, while Will Mercer and Eric Duncan, R&D director and head of food science division at Coveris UK, will debate reducing waste through packaging innovation.
Each of the daily lunchtime panel debates planned for Pro2Pac will also focus on topical issues. They include an assessment of how the packaging industry will fare post-Brexit, the ‘Storm in a Coffee Cup’ debate with Martin Kersh, Executive Director of the FPA, and a discussion on whether the future of retail packaging lies online rather than instore.
Packaging New editor Philip Chadwick will introduce the speaker line-up on the opening day of the show, which takes place from 20-22 March at Excel, London.
