Supermarket giants Sainsbury’s and Tesco are recalling some of their canned pasta products as they may contain pieces of rubber.
Produced by the same company – Noliko N.V in Belgium – the Food Standards Agency (FSA) said the products may contain pieces of rubber, and so are a possible risk to health.
The packs being recalled are By Sainsbury’s Beef Ravioli in Tomato Sauce, By Sainsbury’s Macaroni Cheese, Tesco Beef Ravioli, Tesco Everyday Value Beef Ravioli.
A Sainsbury’s spokesperson said: “As a purely precautionary measure, and following an investigation with our supplier, we have chosen to recall our By Sainsbury’s macaroni cheese and By Sainsbury’s beef ravioli in tomato Sauce. We’re sorry for the inconvenience and ask customers to return these items to receive a full refund.”
A Tesco spokesman added: “As a precautionary measure, we are recalling the affected products from customers. Customers who have purchased any of the affected products should return them to store for a full refund.”
