ID Technology is the North America market leader for label printer applicators and the modular 252 platform is the most versatile labeler available.
In this case, a pair of 252 tamp-jet heads with SATO S84-ex print engines, are built onto a robust mounting frame. The two labelers operate in a parent-child mode – one is the primary labeler and when labels on that head run low, the system automatically switches to the second (child) head. When the original head has been replenished, the labeling switches back.
Every barcode printed by the system is checked for data accuracy and quality, using a Cognex imaging scanner.
To make label roll changes simple and safe, our “service position” mount allows the heads to be swung away from the conveyor to give complete access when loading labels or cleaning the printheads.
This is just one of the possible configurations for an ID Technology zero-downtime labeling system. As well as our high-speed tampjet applicator, other 252 applicator modules can apply labels around the corner of the box (either leading or trailing edge) as well as apply labels to adjacent sides.
